馬刺狀元溫班亞瑪（Victor Wembanyama）正式入隊後，下賽季披著球衣、站上球場的樣貌也越加清晰，他也選擇穿著1號戰袍展開新篇章，原因是「只接受當第一名」。

溫班亞瑪成為繼羅賓森（David Robinson）、鄧肯（Tim Duncan），馬刺隊史又一位長人狀元後，並沒有選擇以新的球衣號碼踏上新的旅程，而是沿用法甲聯賽，為大都會92隊效力時的1號，成為球隊第20位1號使用者。

日前接受節目專訪，當主持人詢問溫班亞瑪，為何對1號情有獨鍾時，他也做出解釋，表示自己想永遠走在最前面，「這出自於一種，『沒有除了第一名以外的選項』的精神，我不能接受自己落後於他人。」

Wembanyama: "It's a mentality... There's no other option but to be number 1. I can't accept to be behind someone in some way."

事實上溫班亞瑪的籃球路將自己的「第一哲學」貫徹地十分徹底，上季在法甲不僅拿下聯賽MVP，還是年度最佳防守球員、最佳年輕球員、最佳五人；進入NBA後，也是第一個被唱名的選秀狀元，甚至是明年新人王的唯一熱門。

雖然溫班亞瑪並未現身加州經典賽，但馬刺已安排他參加拉斯維加斯夏季聯賽，初登板時間為台灣時間本周六早上9點，首戰將對上黃蜂。屆時很有機會能看到他披著1號球衣，和米勒（Brandon Miller）上演「狀元vs.榜眼大戰」。
